ABOUT
ME,
I
am a PhD student at the Lancaster University Management School with a
specialization in Web-Based B2B Systems implementation and have over two
years of professional work experience as a Global Lead Buyer at
DaimlerChrysler.
Prior
to my time in academia, I took lead in projects involving international
personnel of DaimlerChrysler and cooperated with a wide range of local
as well as European suppliers. After less than two years with
DaimlerChrysler, I was responsible for a total spend of 28 Mil € and
developed outstanding relationships with 102 suppliers.
On a daily basis I
work closely with the engineering department on cockpit platforms and
manage major contributions in a cross-functional environment to achieve
cost reduction.
These projects
represent successes in my professional background, as well as
demonstrate my ability to communicate effectively at all levels and to
take responsibility. As Lead Buyer and Commodity Representative I needed a
great deal of initiative, decision-making ability, and great skill in
contributing to the strategic effort of the commodity team. In this
role my interpersonal skills were put to the test in a team leadership
environment.
